MUCH NEEDED RENEWAL

By Marion Wakahe

The bald eagle is arguably the most majestic bird of the sky . This eagle is known for its bald ( previously defined as ‘ white ’) head , yellow , large and hooked beak , dark brown plumage and yellow talons . Its natural range covers most of North America , including most of Canada , all of the continental United States , and northern Mexico .

As most people know it is the national bird and the national animal of the United States , appearing on most official seals of the U . S . government most prominently the presidential seal .
To be able to take fight and soar , the eagle ’ s feathers must be in good shape . In order to catch prey and tear prey into edible pieces , the eagle ’ s talons and beak respectively , equally have to be in good shape .
It is said that when this eagle gets to 40 years of age , because of obvious wear and tear on its feathers , talons and beak the bald eagle is forced to make a tough decision . In order to continue to live , it must seclude itself in a tree and begin the painful process of knocking its beak till it comes out , pluck off its talons and rip off its feathers .

‘‘ Finally , I believe , especially for those of us in the field of marketing that we should always prepare for the inevitable shifts and dynamics . That means reading , reading some more and then reading in addition to that . Of course there are also other things like networking ; we all know what we need to do .’’

In the interim , a new beak , new talons and a new set of feathers grow back on the eagle . This process takes about 5 months after which it takes a flight of re-birth and lives for another 30 years .
This story is further supported by the scripture in the book of Psalms , “ Bless the LORD , O my soul , And forget not all His benefits : who forgives all your iniquities , who heals all your diseases , who redeems your life from destruction , who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies , who satisfies your mouth with good things , so that your youth is renewed like the eagle ’ s . ( Psalm 103:2-5 , NKJV ).
When I first heard this story I thought it was so amazing . I ’ d never heard of anything like it before so , of course as is the norm today I checked the story on Google . I ’ ll take this opportunity to let you know as inspiring as it may sound , the story is a myth .
This story was formulated to inspire people to go through the painful process of change in order to continue to survive and thrive
