From the way we manage our
money, access credit, travel by air
or by motor vehicle, all these will
dramatically change.
By then, the world will be full of
self-driven cars, according to the
book aircraft engines will fly 4 times
faster than the speed of sound, the
world will go cashless, Google will
become the biggest hospital in the
world with individuals conducting
self surgery and medicine
prescription.
Our education system will have
moved from one revolution to
another, everything and virtually
everything will go through many
sequences of change.
By all this I simply mean that
change is here to stay. Are you
dissatisfied with some aspects of
your life? Simple, just change them
or change the way you handle them.
Remember the timeless prayer?
“Dear Lord give me the courage to
change the things that I can, the
grace to accept the ones I can not
change and the wisdom to know
the difference”. Make this a regular
prayer in your life and you will live
a peaceful life full of gratitude and
achievements.
Always remember that what does
not kill you only came your way
to make you stronger and change
happens when you get sick and
tired of being sick and tired. The
best time for you to change was 20
years ago and the next best time to
change is now.
Generally people have about 4
reactions when they are faced with
a situation that require change,
whenever the wind of change
starts to blow up, 4 kinds of people
emerge in any social or professional
set up.
Number one you have the victims.
This category of people simply
panic whenever change comes
knocking. They loose focus and
concentration, they surrender to
their fears and uncertainties and in
the process they send a very strong
panic signal to anyone who cares to
be affected.
The second category of people are
known as the critics, these fellows
simply fight change, they criticize
it, they take the pain of convincing
themselves and others that this is a
bad idea, it should not happen now,
it is not necessary and it will be
very detrimental to both parties.
But time and time again history
has proven that critics always loose
at the end of their contest against
change.
Thirdly you have the by-standers,
these group of individuals are the
most interesting because they
simply ignore change.
They behave like nothing was
happening around them, they do
not adjust to new trends, they do
not re-align themselves to changing
patterns in their immediate
environment, they simply ignore
every signal and every indication
of a looming change. They stand by
and let things be, no wonder at the
end of the day they are swept away
and quickly sent packing to the
land of irrelevance.
The last cadre is known as the
navigators, who are a smart group
of people empowered by change.
They rise to the occasion, they
adapt and adjust faster than the
average and common person, these
fellows are generally ahead of their
time, they don’t wait for things to
happen, they make them happen.
They take charge before they are
dis-charged, they act before they
are acted upon.
Take the challenge,
face life head on,
accept what you can’t
change and change
whatever is within your
circle of influence.
Become a navigator
and make this world a
better place.
They navigate well in the sea of
change and mount up the highest
waves of innovation and human
advancement.
These are people who make the
world a better place for all of us, they
are thinkers, innovators, disruptors,
paradigm shifters and game changers.
Having taken you through this
article on change, my question is;
how do you describe yourself now?
As a Victim, Critic, By-stander or
Navigator?
Take the challenge, face life head on,
accept what you can’t change and
change whatever is within your circle
of influence. Become a navigator and
make this world a better place.
