EVENT: Attucks Middle School 4H Patriots Community Garden Day

DETAILS: Attucks Middle School 4H club will have a community garden day for the students, families, and community stakeholders. This event is geared to increase participation in the schools 4H club as well as give awareness to the communities’ food desert problem. The overall goal is to educate and promote urban food production within Harris County.

EVENT: Code Your World - 4-H National Youth Science Day

DETAILS: 4-H & Urban Youth Development is having a Code Your World STEM Night for 4-H National Youth Science Day.

30 open seats available for students 3rd through 8th grade to attend. Parents must register each student individually online. Meals will be provided. There will be no on-site registration.

DETAILS: Youth work in teams apply knowledge of nutrition and food preparation to prepare a recipe from “mystery bag’ of ingredients.

EVENT: Harris County Kids & Kows & More: Path to Plate

DETAILS: What better way to learn about dairy farms and the world of agriculture than with a hands on experience for children? Kids & Kows & More program offers great activities that teach children about cows and other farm animals, the cattle industry, cotton growers, cheese-making, and a lot more. There will be exhibits for Mobile Dairy, Cotton, Livestock (Goats), Vegetables and Water.
