I am originally from the great city of Dallas, TX. I attended Yvonne A. Ewell, Townview Magnet Center where I was a student within the High School for Health Professions. I attended undergraduate school at Prairie View A&M University where I was a proud saxophone player in the Marching Storm, member of Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority, and member of the Student Dietetic Club. I obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dietetics from Prairie View in 2008 and a Master of Science in Human Service and Consumer Sciences from Texas Southern University in 2011.

Today I am the County Extension Agent for the Urban Youth Development Department of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service - Harris County. I plan, implement, and evaluate educational programs for youth and adult audiences throughout Harris County.

I am very passionate about the growth and development of youth and take great strides to ensure youth are provided impactful life skills programs to enhance their quality of life. Currently I manage a five-year program titled Sustainable Communities Project. This project is funded by the Children, Youth and Families at Risk Initiative of the United States Department of Agriculture and delivers a variety of lessons, activities, and events that prepare students to become advocates of urban agriculture. Through school gardening, educational field trips, and curriculum enrichment, students learn to identify roles of agriculture in daily living, explore careers, and evaluate solutions for sustainability of agriculture in urban communities.

During my time off, I enjoy spending time with my husband, two sons, and new Yorkipoo named Pepper! We love family adventures such as camping and fishing!
