Tax Day Flood

The “Tax Day Flood” of 2016 had a personal impact on the Harris County Extension Program. The water in Addicks Reservoir reached a historic mark with a pool elevation of 102.65 feet on April 23rd, according to the Harris County Flood Control District.

This, compiled with the subsequent rainfall events, contributed to the flooding of the Harris County Extension Office and Precinct 3 Parks Office as well as the Bear Creek Community Center. The minimum threshold for water in the Extension Office was 19 inches.
