MAINE ARTS EDUCATION BLOG As the Maine Arts Commission follows changes in education (i.e. ESSA, proficiency based graduation requirements) the information will continue to be available on the Maine Arts Education blog at https:// meartsed.wordpress.com/. The blog has educator and student stories, resources, links to articles and much more. When you have an upcoming performance or a story to tell about a lesson, unit, accomplishment or something that you’d like to share with others please email me. A weekly email will continue during the school year from the arts education list-serv. If you have a new email address or have a new colleague who is not on the list-serv I’d be glad to add them. As you jump into a new school year I wish you the very best! Please don’t hesitate to email me at [email protected] if you have questions or would like to invite me to your school/district. I am grateful for the work you do every day providing an excellent arts education. Thank you! Argy Nestor is the Director of Arts Education at the Maine Arts Commission. She has served as the Visual and Performing Arts Specialist at the Maine Department of Education and spent 30 fun-filled years in the classroom teaching visual arts. Argy has been recognized for her accomplishments in teaching and has published many articles and presented on many teaching and learning topics. She is most proud of the Maine Arts Leadership Initiative (formerly the Maine Arts Assessment Initiative) and the work that all visual and performing arts educators do in classrooms across the state.
