Collegiate Chapter News By Dr. Laura Artesani, Collegiate Chapter Chair Greetings from Glasgow, Scotland, where I have just arrived on the eve of the 32nd World Conference of the International Society for Music Education. In addition to participating in a poster session, I look forward to hearing presentations and performances from individuals and ensembles that have traveled here from all corners of the world, and to gain information about current issues, challenges, opportunities and developments in our profession. Our collegiate NAfME chapters at the University of Maine and the University of Southern Maine continue to thrive, as our pre-service music educators participate in a variety of events and projects. Members of the UMaine chapter participated in the annual General Music workshop in Augusta in September, where we spent a fantastic day with Peter and Mary Alice Amidon. Many thanks to Nancy Cash-Cobb for organizing this wonderful event. Members of the UMaine chapter also traveled to USM in October for the 7th annual Northern New England Collegiate Symposium, where we participated in a wide variety of worthwhile and informative sessions. As always, members of the USM chapter were gracious and enthusiastic hosts. In April, we welcomed Artie Members of the UMaine collegiate NAfME chapter take a lunch break in Gorham Almeida to the during the 7th annual Northern New England Collegiate Symposium on Music Orono campus, Education, hosted by the USM collegiate chapter.
