Thank you to all of you who work so hard to make these festivals such a
great experience for students. While there are no elementary festivals in
District 1 at this time it would be a great disservice if we did not recognize
our elementary teachers for the hard work they do every day in providing a
great musical foundation for the students in District 1. Thank you all.

News from Your MMEA Treasurer

As I begin my work for you as MMEA Treasurer, I’d like to take a moment to
say, “Thank You” to Roger Whitney for taking such good care of our financial
records through his term as treasurer. I’d also like to thank Sue Barre for
previously setting MMEA up with an accountant who has been very helpful
and easy to work with.
The best news that I can give you is that MMEA is on healthy financial
ground. We are in the process of building our 2016-17 budget and, so far,
all looks great! If anyone is in need of payment from MMEA, there is an
online form being created that you can submit along with your receipts.
With this system, we can pretty much guarantee a two-week turnaround
from the time we receive your request to the time your check gets mailed to
you.
Upcoming News: As directed by our colleagues from the national level,
MMEA will be looking into Directors and Officers Liability Insurance. This is
