1911. Gianni Maimeri paints continuosly. His passion for art overrules all else, though he does develop multiple interests. Music, botany, literature and aesthetics enrich him both culturally and spiritually and provide a constant source of inspiration for his art. An eagerness to understand combined with an infinite curiosity in the world are the driving forces that push the artist into becoming a businessman. Wishing to improve the chromatic performance of his works, the technical and scientific culture inherited from his family leads Gianni to take a deeper look at the aspects of oil colour composition. This interest, accompanied by the skills of his brother Carlo, currently research manager for the Ledoga company, make it possible to plan a factory for oil paints. 1923. These are years of continual testing and experimenting that see the two brothers working side by side in unending research. The idea is to obtain products capable of maintaining their chromatic and physical qualities unaltered over time. “The intention is to give paints a genuine consistency, a uniform, stable mixture of the highest plastic quality, of a consistency which is variable only within certain narrow limits using only siccative oils and mineral pigments.” 1925. Gianni’s creative urge is expressed in every aspect of running the company. It is Gianni who personally designs what is to remain the Maimeri Stable Colours trademark until the 1950’s. He chooses the tetrahedron because it has the same shape whichever way it is turned, furthermore, of the three engraved surfaces, at least two are always visible so it is always possible to read Stable Colours or Maimeri Colours or Stable Maimeri. During the same period he designs the labels for the A Series oil colours. 1923. First Maimeri Trademark. 1923. Blondel Mill. First Maimeri factory at Barona department. 1927. Price list of the Company Fratelli Maimeri & C.
