Per eliminare queste differenze e migliorare la protezione della salute umana e dell ’ ambiente in tutti i paesi , si è deciso di sviluppare un Sistema globale armonizzato ( GHS ) per la classificazione e l ’ etichettatura dei prodotti chimici sotto l ’ egida delle Nazioni Unite . Il GHS è stato formalmente adottato nel 2002 dal Consiglio economico e sociale delle Nazioni Unite ( ECOSOC ) e sottoposto a revisione nel 2005 e 2007 . Il suo obiettivo è quello di migliorare la comunicazione relativa ai rischi per i lavoratori , i consumatori , i servizi di emergenza e nei trasporti mediante etichette armonizzate e , ove del caso , schede di dati di sicurezza armonizzate . Fino al 1 ° giugno 2015 , le aziende incaricate dell ’ etichettatura delle sostanze chimiche saranno libere di utilizzare uno dei due sistemi per le miscele . A partire dal 1 ° giugno 2015 , le direttive correnti verranno abrogate e interamente sostituite dal nuovo regolamento CLP . |

GHS Symbols ( Globalisation Harmonisation System ) Currently there are various systems of classification and labelling ( C & L : Classification & Labelling ) worldwide .
