The Cumberland Lodge Detention without Trial Debate
Mentored by trainee barristers from Inner Temple and hosted by Cumberland Lodge, 40 young
people debated the contemporary relevance of the Magna Carta principle that no one should be
detained without a trial. The debate made special reference to the controversial and problematic
detention of those suspected of planning and or carrying out terrorist attacks.
