Magna Carta School
Exhibition Project
One of the most positive outcomes
from the Magna Carta project has
been the closer relationship it has built
between the Museum and The Magna
Carta School. This was epitomised by
the ‘Museum Project’ that saw every
history group in year 9 take part in a
project to produce a banner exploring
contemporary Magna Carta themed
rights abuses around the world for the
pop-up exhibition. Pupils were offered
the opportunity to be researchers
(researching content using such sources
as the Amnesty International or Human
Rights Watch websites) or designers
(working with our graphic designer to
produce the final design). Pupils then
had to apply for these roles with a
written statement. After weeks of work
the banner was produced and exhibited
in August 2015. It will now be returned
to The Magna Carta School where
it will be exhibited for future year 9
historians to be inspired by what their
fellow pupils achieved.
