Town Banners and Artwork
The clause banners illustrated by Simon Clark for the Magna Carta exhibitions were also used to create a series of town banners . Surrey County Council sponsored banners were then hung in Egham High Street , at St . John ’ s parish church , at St . Mary ’ s in Thorpe , at Virginia Water Library and Englefield Green community centre , Guildford Cathedral and the Elmsleigh Shopping Centre in Staines . Excerpts from the graphic novel were also displayed in the windows of the Egham Waitrose supermarket . Additional banners were also displayed in two empty shop fronts in Egham thanks to sponsorship from Runnymede Borough Council . Finally , 18 banners flew at Runnymede on the 15th June , providing a rich backdrop to the Royal visit and featuring prominently in the television coverage on the BBC and Sky News .
