Recently, Year 12 Student Nathan Shoesmith was given the terrific award of 'Young Person of the Year' at at the EDP Stars Of Norfolk & Waveney Awards 2017. Since 2014, he has raised awareness and over £8,000 for causes such as Marie Curie Cancer Care, Help For Heroes and the East Anglian Air Ambulance, amongst others. He explained his experience of winning the well deserved award:

"I was awarded a second award of Young Person Of The Year for Norfolk & Waveney on the 6th December at the EDP Stars Of Norfolk & Waveney Awards 2017 held at St Andrews & Blackfriars Hall in Norwich. This followed my award of Broadland's Young Person Of The Year in October.

As part of the award, I was presented with a glass trophy, a bottle of Shloer Bubbly and a Norwich City FC shirt signed by the full first team squad.

On the 20th January, I was a VIP guest at Carrow Road, which gave me behind the scenes access and also access to pitch side. I was also given priority interview and photo spots along with the match sponsors.

The awards recognised my commitments to local and wider communities, from extensive fundraising to sports coaching."
