    two school units are united under the same name: School Group of Construction Materials in Roman since 1991. Since 17 September 2007, by a Decree of the Ministery of Education Research and Youth, the name of the school is “Petru Poni” Technical College in Roman (Colegiul Tehnic “Petru Poni”, Roman). Our school is a technical college where young people aged between the age of 14 and 18 years specializing in profiles: economy, environment, automation and computers, construction and public works, construction materials. the activity developed by the 98 teachers wants to assure for the pupils a very good preparation in culture and their specializations in order to o correlate the raising of children with the needs of the local community and with the educational standards of U.E., assuring the social and professional integration of all the absolvents.  The school is located in downtown, it has a large number of specializations classrooms, workshops and laboratories adequately equipped that provided schools with students following the courses of our institution belonging to the different environments and social categories with such students from wealthy families but also children with unemployed parents, from urban and rural (80% ) areas, children belonging to different ethnic groups, students with special needs, well integrated in our school unit. THE MISSION OF THE SCHOOL “ Petru Poni” Technical Highschool complies with the requirements on the development of Roman and of Neamt-county by offering a highly qualitative professional training, meeting the needs of the economical entrepreneurs to offer qualified labour, supporting the career and the development at the same time, enhancing the life standards and the economical prosperity, promoting norms and ideals which relate to the cultivation of respect for values such as democracy, freedom, truth and the respect for institutions and their peers.
