DE MARGHERITA
M A R G H E R I TA’ S I TA L I A N R E C I P E S
Il était naturel que Favuzzi et Margherita, récemment
immigrés d’Italie, finissent par se retrouver pour partager
leur passion et leur amour pour la cuisine italienne. « J’ai
commencé à cuisiner quand j’étais petite, fascinée par
la magie de voir une tarte gonfler dans le four. Après,
j’ai continué à cuisiner pour le plaisir d’inviter des amis
à ma table. Dîner après dîner, le plaisir de penser aux
recettes possibles et au nombre d’invités est deve-
nu une façon de m’exprimer, d’oublier tout ce qui n’a
aucune relation avec les ingrédients. Chaque plat
parle de mon histoire, on y trouve la contribution de ma
famille, de mon mari, de mes amis qui m’ont soutenue
et savourent beaucoup mes recettes italiennes. »
Margherita a fait la rencontre de Favuzzi alors qu’elle
était à la recherche d’une crème aux pistaches tout aussi
délicieuse que celle de son pays, mais malheureusement
très difficile à dénicher. Un jour, une amie lui a parlé
de la crème aux pistaches Favuzzi. « J’ai ouvert le pot
à la fin d’un repas entre amis, et nous l’avons terminé !
Nous sommes depuis complètement accros. Je suis
obligée de cacher la crème ou d’éviter de dire que j’en
ai acheté, sinon mon fils et mon mari la mangent en un
seul jour ! »
It was only natural that Favuzzi and Margherita,
recently immigrated from Italy, would meet to share
their love and passion for Italian cuisine. “I began to
cook as a child, fascinated as I was to see pies rise in
the oven, as if by magic. Later, I continued to cook
because I enjoyed inviting friends to share a meal at
my table. Dinner after dinner, I take great pleasure in
thinking about potential recipes and the number of
guests. It has become a way for me to express myself,
to forget everything that doesn’t have to do with the
ingredients. Each dish is a way to tell my story, with
a contribution from my family, my husband and
my friends, who supported me and who delight in
tasting my Italian recipes.”
Margherita discovered Favuzzi in a store when she was
looking for pistachio cream. She was having a hard time
finding one with the same delicious taste she knew
from her country, until the day a friend told her about
Favuzzi’s. “I opened the jar at the end of a meal with
friends and we ate the whole thing! We are now com-
pletely addicted. I have to hide the pistachio cream or
avoid mentioning that I bought it, otherwise my son
and husband will finish the jar in one day!”
