Fishing tackle and flies
We have fished with 9 feet fly rods for 3-4-5
weight fly lines and 12-15 feet long leaders, carrying tippets never lighter than 6X (0.12 mm).
These indications are valid for both reserves.
Flies: in July caddies (sedges) both in deer hair
and in feather sections are very attractive to the
fish. I used a lot also those with the wings made
of Puglisi’s EP fibers, which are very light and dry
quickly. Other flies to be used are the terrestrials
in general, parachutes in all variants, pale, size
12-14. Weighted nymphs size 10-12, hair gold
bead heads, pheasant, hare, true hairs!

September calls for smaller flies size 16-18,
again pale parachutes, midges, winged ants and
bees, even in good sizes, work great!
We tried also caddies, but with no satisfactory
results. For underwater fishing, we used similar
nymphs to those fished in July, but in smaller
sizes: 14-16.
Waders are advisable, ground is not slippery,
hence no studs boots are ok, but it is mandatory
to watch carefully where you put your feet, otherwise taking a dip is not at all pleasant, as the
water here is always rather chilly…
