The basis of our operations has been the Gasthof Dorschenke managed
by the family Liebhart, where we slept, ate and bought fishing licences.
The first holiday dates back to last July, in a strange summer influenced
by weather conditions and heavy rain that, in conjunction with the iceout runoff, resulted in constantly high water levels.
Few insects, limited hatches, not too warm conditions, high water, difficulties for a new place (at least for me) that, although known for its
abundant fishing fauna, obliged us to face several problems, such as
river access, limited and dangerous wading, difficult spotting of the best
river locations.
To our luck we made it, also thanks to hotel manager Gerhard Liebhart,
skillful fly fisher who deeply knows the waters of this region, fishing the
Moell with us every day.
We have fished two reserves.
The Bachforelle in Stall, municipal reserve, with a daily maximum of six
fishing licences, and the Rossignoli reserve in Lainach / Ragersdorf, with
a daily maximum of four fishing licences.
As written above, despite the difficulties and our limited experience in
these waters, we managed to make it.
