"in all my life work, my work has always been connected with photography and so there was a moment in time where I… I became a photographer"

AY: Landmines, wow!

Kike: Yeah. All over the places in Japan I was photographing traditons the “keyo” festivals in Kyoto. I always tried to choose tropiclogical work and things that teach people something about cultures and traditions. It’s something that I am very interested in.

AY: Yeah and so. Have you had any experience, you know, working with people with autism? Like on the spectrum and stuffs?

Kike: Well, actually, I had. Yeah, Right, I did a fellow exhibition in Spain. There was a mother that brought her daughter that had autism and she felt in love with my work. Whenever I did project, I was talking about the little girl who came and see and followed me everywhere and knew the names of animals and she was fascinated by what I do. And then my other experience is I travelled with somebody and his name is “ Itjake ivano “ and he was a passenger in one of the expeditions and he came with his daughter that had autism and he had been working on her speech and learning and it was fascinating to spend time with her and we became friends and it was nice and she was nice. But I learned a little bit about the whole thing because what happen normally in life people are not aware of people’s struggle and the things we don’t see close and we don’t understand. So by chatting with them I got to realize others’ challenges and you know the whole interaction with what everybody else is like.

AY: Well, that’s pretty much it, you know. And can I take a picture with you?

Kike: Hi Liza, can we take a picture together? Do you mind? We can take a picture together.

AY: Sure. Thank you!
