Formerly known as the J.A.M sisters, J’Arnay “Sistager” Taper, 27, Ashantia "Shawnee Dez" Day, 23, and Mizani “Zani” Day, 20, is an unwavering unit, dripping in black girl magic. With their mother at the helm, Sugar will tell you, her greatest accomplishment is raising her three daughters. They are authentic, compassionate, self-aware, and have been empowered to seek their heart’s desires. Her middle daughter, Shawnee Dez, is doing just that — soon becoming the next big soul artist sensation. Only in the early stages of her career, Shawnee has carved out a space for herself in the Chicago music scene.
