What keeps you going?
I`ve worked too hard on my music to
let it go of it anytime soon. When I
first started I would tell myself you
don’t have to be great to start, but
you have to start to in order to be
great. It was a way to keep doubt or
fear of not being good enough from
entering my mind. Like any craft you
fall in love with the results of your
journey. I sing daily because I love it.
Also my supporters, students or even
strangers I meet that say,"Hey, I love
your song. It's been stuck in my head."
or "I saw you perform at...it made me
feel..." I`ve met people that`ve said, "I
listen to your music every morning."
It`s always love, ya know?
How would you describe your
style of music and why?
My style of music simultaneously
has that soulful old school song with
modern influences. I am inspired by
and have studied so many different
genres that when creating I`m
pulling from multiple places. The
goal is always to make people feel.
Music has such power and healing
qualities. As artists we reflect the
times, and pull from our own life
experiences.
In what ways has your newest
music changed from when you
first started?
I am putting more of myself into my
music. When I first started I would
write about my inspirations. Today
I`m sharing more of my own stories.
In order to be honest I ask myself
questions like... In what way can
my truths reach the masses? Where
is my beginning middle and end as
I take my listeners on this journey
with me?
