Hospitals are more and more looking at big data and the startup culture has finally reached the healthcare world. Why is this important for the millennial? For one, advances in technology may allow you to get cheaper care, faster. It’s also interesting to watch the parallel growth in individualized/ personalized medicine and how it is now becoming mainstream. Gone are the days of “treating everyone the same” and now it’s becoming evident that each person should be treated specific to their individualized makeup. THINGS CURRENTLY UNDER WAY: 1) Pharma companies and hospitals are looking to big data to help deliver better, more precise medications to patients. The hope is that this will lead to better outcomes and shorter hospital stays. 2) Telemedice is becoming more and more clear.
