MAA Awards Scholarships Bob Greymount, MCA (left) is the 2018 VISTA Award recipient. VISTA Award to be presented at April 24 Meeting Every year, MAA proudly invests in the future of the tree care industry by offering scholarships to students studying commercial arboriculture at UMa ss. MAA’s President, Natascha Batchelor, MCA presented the 2018 scholarships during the UMass Tree Conference on March 5, 2018. The MAA King Scholarship was presented to freshman Christian Nadeau. The MAA/MTWFA Denis Ryan Outstanding Arboriculture Student Award was presented to upperclassman Lauren Azuela. “I have no doubt that the recipients of these scholarships will be future leaders in our industry,” Batchelor said. “MAA is proud to support arboriculture students at UMass who are well prepared to contribute to the tree care profession.” The VISTA award is the most impor- tant honor the association can bestow upon one of its members. It was con- ceived to recognize truly outstanding tree care professionals whose acts and deeds serve as a guide and challenge for all members of the industry. The award’s title is an acronym for Vision, Integrity, Service, Talent, and Action – the leadership qualities inherent in all award recipients.
