Introduced in 1996, the St. Barts'
Film Festival, held in April every
year, has put the island on the map
for film makers while in January
top musicians meet at the St. Barts'
Music Festival. Ballet and Jazz were
introduced to the island in 1988 and
1989 respectively and of course the
annual Carnival takes place through
the streets of Gustav every February.

Isle de France Tied into the Catholic religious calendar, the first weekend after
Baie Des Flamands Epiphany marks the beginning of the island’s annual Carnival
celebrations with parades or “déboulés” through the streets of

Gustavia every weekend. The lively sounds of music and drumming
drums leads up to the big Mardi Gras parade, also in Gustavia which
sees colourful floats and costumes filling the streets. Then the
partying continues way into the night.
