In December 2015, she released a solo track, called “Belly Whine” in collaboration with DJ Jo from France, which gained 103,000 YouTube views and definitely opened up doors into the French market, in which the singer can now, safely say, she has cemented her spot. The song that blasted her musical career wide open, however, was the single “Touch Me” which was released on December 31st, 2016. The video was shot in Martinique by Dreamtracks - a beautiful fusion of Zouk and Kizomba. The catchy “Ooh la la” phrases in the bridge and chorus made the song hard to resist! Mel’s label then collaborated with that of Popular French singer Jmax on the remix of “Touch Me” and when the single was released on September 13, 2017 a special kind of craze overtook the French public. Mel was employed on a cruise ship at that time, and watched in awe as her social media followings grew, along with the demand for her live performances of the single. “Touch Me Remix” stands at Ten Million YouTube views, and counting, today.
