LV Magazine Kids December 2019 Danielle Harris - Page 19

Amary: My favorite restaurant is Mandarin because I love mandarin! Also, I love their sushi an all-you-can-eat-buffet. Everything I like in one spot and I can eat as much of it as I want.

Sanjana: Oh! Who doesn't? Anyway, what are your favorite vegetables and fruit?

Amary: My favorite vegetables are broccoli and asparagus, whereas I like Avocado. I like eating it with rice, that's how they eat it in the Dominican Republic where my mom is from. The second favorite fruit is mangos. I like them sweet or sour.

Sanjana: Tell us how did you get started and achieved lots of things at just a tender age?

Amary: I got started in Taekwondo with a decision to never being bullied. Modeling happened by accident I started in pageants and the winnings from those pageants brought me to modeling and well the rest is history. As for Soccer, my dad loves the sport and grew up traveling for it and playing it so naturally, so when I was born, he would teach me. I also love it and like my dad once did as an 11-year old I am playing on an elite team with 14+-year-olds. Coming back to pageants, it started by watching my aunt participate and win. It was amazing I thought I could do that and that’s where I fell in love with the glitz, glamour, and elegance. However, the interviews are my least favorite part of it all but they do teach me to think before I speak. Last but not least, gymnastics and dancing was something I wanted to try. I've learned that I hate ballet but love hip hop and gymnastics is amazing! I'm so grateful that my parents allow and encourage my sister and I to do these activities, hobbies, and sports.

Sanjana: Wow! So inspirational for our young readers. Would you like to share some facts with our readers?

Amary: Oh yea, so 90% of my allowance has been spent on subway station's Jamaican beef patties because they are life. The best hang spots for me are Scarborough Town center or the Eaton center. On the other hand, Wonderland is the go-to summer trip with friends. Also, "always remember an even number of friends and seasons passes are a good idea." Overall, I feel fortunate to be growing up in Toronto it's the best city in the world and it's welcoming to everybody if you can handle the winter.

Sanjana: Haha! I hope everybody brings their blankets with them while visiting Toronto. What are your up and coming projects?

Amary: My up and coming projects are on November 16th, I will be modeling and performing a dance in Toronto Off The Runway. On November 30th I will be modeling for Young Socialites in (TKFW) Toronto Kids Fashion Week, after that, at the moment nothing has been scheduled or finalized but there are no plans of slowing down.

Sanjana: What message would you like to give to our readers?

Amary: I would like to tell all the LV Magazine readers “to enjoy their daily moments. Be conscious, aware and present in the now it's the only way to give 100%”. In short, take it one day at a time!

Amary Joslyn comes across as high spirited; not afraid of getting what her heart desires. We wish you good luck!
