the origins by re-centering the focus around the idea of sleeping well, waking up well, and the well-being of the person in general. AW², the international architecture and interior design agency led by associate architects Reda Amalou and Stéphane Ledoux, have designed this room, which was originally conceived by DELPORTE Hospitality. La Chambre ORIGINE, the energy-efficient, bio- resourced and thoroughly revitalizing room. La Chambre ORIGINE rests on the fundamental idea that a sustainable, bio-resourced, and revitalizing room is, above all, a place of well-being. The hotel client is at the heart of the question: how can a hotel room commit to sustainable development and deliver a naturality in the experience so that the client will be fully satisfied by his room and even come back to spend more nights in the future? The client has to be in total coherence with the environment surrounding him. It is important to respect the place, the region, for him to live out the best experience possible. This is why it’s best to draw from the resources available to the hotel’s environment to develop the room: light, local materials, wind, local expertise… La Chambre ORIGINE operates in almost entire autonomy according to the sites where it is found by welcoming all sources of economic consumption of electricity and water such as through photovoltaic panels or natural ventilation. La Chambre ORIGINE, a multi- functional room La Chambre is the principal element, the ‘raison d’être’ of the hotel. The room must satisfy a wide variety of clients who bring with them a wide variety of habits. The room must anticipate a multifunctional usage that allows clients both on vacation and business to evolve comfortably in a room of human dimension with the help of furniture that allows for a versatility 70 ILHA of functions and spaces. For instance, imagine a surface that can transform into a desk, a vanity table, or even a dining table. Each space in the room, once organized, thus generates value and wins the client’s loyalty. Above all, clients of hotels are men and women who live according to a rhythm in nature. The room must allow for a different use according to the hours of a day. A luminous ambiance can adapt to the needs of the client. La Chambre ORIGINE responds to the vital needs of the human being! We are shared in our basic needs. Given this, hotels must ensure that clients are able to satisfy their need to eat, drink, breathe, and sleep. It is not only common sense; it is of absolute importance in the world of hotels. Today, we must return to these fundamentals, which are too often left on the side to permit some economies. Indeed, these choice have important consequences in the design of the room. Whether the client is staying in a hotel for leisure or for professional reasons, he must be able to resource himself, and the more the hotel returns to nature, the better for the client. The same goes for our everyday lives. La Chambre ORIGINE was thought out for the client and more to the various clients who travel in different ways and who have varying needs. The room has as its aim to give meaning to the environment surrounding the client and placing the user at the heart of the hotel experience.
