Banish Fall Breakouts by: Alyssa Nand Fall season comes with many stressors: work, college, holiday season, and much more. With this comes the impending fear of breakouts. Never fear, Luxe Kurves is here with your top tips on keeping your skin looking fresh and free of blemishes! 1. Keep your face clean. This is the top tip you must keep in mind. Our skin is exposed to a harsh environment, and that’s on top of our natural oils. Make it a routine to wash your face every night before going to bed. Use warm water and a mild facial wash. Using a hard soap can irritate and inflame the skin, causing more damage than good. 2. Be minimal with makeup. Makeup can be the cause of breakouts, especially for those who “cake” it on their face. Stick with the minimalist look this fall, and if possible use oil-free products with no dyes or chemicals. Make sure you wash all makeup off at the end of the day. 3. Watch what hair products you use. This can be a confusing tip, but it’s just as important as the others. Our hair naturally does get oily, and we use so many dyes, chemicals, and products to keep our locks looking luscious. But our hair does touch our face and those chemicals can cause reactions on our skin. So try not to use products in your hair. Keep it simple and natural. 4. Moisturize. Products have a habit of drying the skin. As a result, it can cause skin to peel and lead to breakouts. Look for a moisturizer with “noncomedogenic” on the label. These moisturizers are not supposed to cause dryness, breakouts, or oiliness. 5. Relax. Remember to remain calm. Life can get stressful, and stress is the number one cause of breakouts. So try not to let any stressors get the better of you. Follow these tips and you will be less likely to have breakouts this fall. Your skin will be the envy of the season.
