NEW YORK FASHION WEEK DAY 1
There’s a knock at the door and a phone ringing off the hook. Hello?
It’s fashion week get up! The day begins at 6a.m.; our featured
makeup artist for this month’s cover editorial has arrived. The hustle
and bustle of fashion week is off to a fast pace. We are so ready to
play with the fun, warm, plush colors for fall. Our autumn-themed
photoshoot was captured on the groundbreaking brownstones of
Bedford-Stuyvesant, NY. Major shout out to Airbnb for the outstand-
ing connection! Looking forward to the remainder of our day, the Luxe
team scurry into a frenzy to get dolled up for Style Fashion Week be-
ing held at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. The American mili-
tary and maritime history museum housed the designs of Malan Bre-
ton. The Taiwanese-born American fashion designer out of New York
City showcased a collection of over 50 pieces, truly an extraordinary
designer. With the excitement of the show and the crazy morning en-
dured the Luxe Kurves family has definitely created a new bond.
“Do they not have white chocolate mocha?”
“NO, we are not In California Brandee this is Brooklyn they only
got normal coffee.”
“Fine just bring two splenda’s.”
Fresh into the week, the Luxe fami-
ly found themselves joining togeth-
er hands, feet, brains, clothes, and
just about anything needed in the
name of fashion. Yes, this includes
walking the streets of Brooklyn at 8
a.m. in search of eyelash glue. So
many moments of laughter the
group shared together. Yes, this
includes showing up to a fashion
show five days in advance! Memo-
ries like going for dollar slices of
pizza and ambushing the ice cream
man with our insane accents and
tourist-like excitement cannot be
forgotten. Creating memories is
one thing but creating family is an-
other. New York Fashion Week has
offered us the opportunity to grow
and develop our relationships as a
unit. It is believed that if you place
four strangers on a deserted island
they will bond together in act of sur-
vival. That is what day one of New
York Fashion Week has done for
Luxe Kurves Magazine. When the
going gets tough, we get creative.
When it’s showtime, we show up
and show out. Without a shroud of
doubt, day one is complete, but the
games have just begun!
