Julia Michaels has stepped away from the sidelines and entered center stage as singer and songwriter. With her extremely unique voice, she shocked the world with her newest album, Nervous System. The album was released July 28th, 2017 and has a total of seven tracks, each more defining than the last. The underrepresented release reveals not only the female weaknesses, but also the strengths that led her to a sense of empowerment.
Her first single on this album is "Issues". This song talks about a relationship that goes through the ups and downs, and has its issues. The lyrics take you on a trip to know that even though things aren't perfect, their love will get them through anything. Her high pitch tone is present in this song as it is in every piece on this album. The next song had been recurrent on the radio: "Uh Huh". The tone is completely different in tone and it pays homage to her one-of-a-kind voice. This track is another song that voices her feelings towards a relationship. The way these lyrics differ from "Issues" is these verses are about how she can't understand her own emotions towards the man she is singing about.
