Anna Scholz: From Zero... to the Fashion Hero!

Stella Pecco

Anna Scholz is a German lady who always had the passion for fashion.

She started her career as a successful plus-size model (one of the very first!), becoming then a graphic designer, and then finally working at her first collections.

In 1996, the Plus size shop Lane Bryant bought Anna’s first collection to sell in their 10 best stores as a premium label, and that was the beginning of a worldwide success that took her to London only a few years later, where she is now based.

Her clothes have been showcased in Paris, Berlin, New York City, Las Vegas, Milan and in many other cities in the world.

She is one of the designers-judges on the Canadian reality tv show “The Fashion hero”.

“The Fashion Hero is a complete global movement set to forever change the game.

With a focus on real people and atypical beauty, it is the first reality television series of its kind.

It’s not about height, size or the color of our skin. It’s about personal style and self-expression. It’s about being confident and comfortable with who we are.

Our mission is to flip the social conventions on their heads and create a model search for the new world.”

The show aired allover the US and they are now shooting Season 2.

Anna told us that she is extremely busy and happy, shooting over 14h a day for this world-changing show that will air in Spring 2017 in USA and Canada, and we all are very excited to watch it!

I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely and talented Anna Scholz just a few weeks ago, during the exceptional warehouse sale that she held in her London design studio.

While trying (and of course buying!) some of her amazing clothes, I had a chat with her, and I can tell that her positive attitude and great energy are for sure some of the reasons of her successful career, which is getting bigger and bigger every day.

Anna is always working and traveling, and for this reason she really appreciates the rare moments where she has the unique chance to actually meet and have a chat with her clients.

“Having my collection online and being always around for work, it's often difficult for me to actually be in touch with the women who wear my clothes, so I really cherish and appreciate days like today, when I really have the chance to see them and often advice them on what to wear and tell them how beautiful and precious they are!”
