Signature Life Quote: “God answers in three ways: He says yes and gives you what you want. He says no and gives you something better. He says wait and gives you the best.”

What made you decide to become a model?

I’ve always wanted to be a model, but never thought that could happen and never really believed in myself. I actually had a lot of people telling me that I had a great look and I should get into modeling. What actually made me go for it, was hearing about my little cousin being bullied by other girls about her weight in her ballet class. I wanted to be a good role model for my cousin and other little girls who are dealing with weight insecurities, because I’ve been there. My hope as a plus size model is to inspire young girls and women everywhere to love their bodies regardless of their size or imperfections.

Do you feel the industry accepts kurvy models?

I feel that the industry is definitely beginning to accept kurvy models. We are beginning to see a lot of plus size models and actors have bigger roles in the fashion industry and on covers of more magazines. However, I believe we are still very segregated from the mainstream fashion industry and we have a long way to go – we need to make more noise!

Who is your favorite designer?

My favorite designer is definitely Karl Lagerfeld. He is a Fashion Powerhouse and I love what he does with Chanel and Fendi, as well as his own line. He can do no wrong in my books!

6 words the best describe you?

What is your meaning of a “Luxe Beautie?”

To me a “Luxe Beautie” is a fierce and determined woman who is confident and comfortable in her own skin. She is someone who is equally beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. A Luxe Beautie is a woman who has a goal to inspire other woman across the globe to feel beautiful and to see the beauty within them.
