5. Taking your life experiences into account, are you still able to see the glass half full or half empty?

I no longer see a glass. With everything that I’ve gone through I can’t confine my outlook. Truthfully, there will be times when it seems “the glass is half full” and other times when it seems that “the glass is half empty”. That’s just life. Remove the glass and just allow the water to run in whatever direction it goes.

6. If you were running for President, what would be your platform? Why?

I’d never run for president because I can’t deal with all of the political b.s. however, IF I did my platform would be equality. We say we live in the land of the free but there are so many of us, so many demographics that still feel as if our voices are muffled, our rights are infringed upon, and our existence is of no importance. We can’t expect everyone to accept others or like everyone else; that’s not realistic. But respect and fair treatment should be universal no matter your socioeconomic background, race, gender, or religion.

7. Name one person you'd love to have lunch with?

I’d like to have lunch with my music idol, Brandy. Not only would I like to meet her but I’d also like the opportunity to see how I can use music to effect change where sexual abuse is concerned. I’m sure that we could put both of our talents to work to perhaps organize a benefit concert or produce an album of which a percentage of sales could be contributed to an organization or major effort to combat sexual abuse.

8. Where do you see the Kenni Brand in five years?

In five years I hope to expand my reach with the advocacy and expose other states to the sexual assault awareness event. My goal is for the Kenni brand to be synonymous with authenticity and making a difference.

9. What's the best advice you ever received?

During a time when I was dealing with a lot professionally and personally, a friend told me that happiness lies within. It took a long time for me to digest that and really grasp the concept. In doing so, I had to let a few people, associations, and things go so that I could get to the heart of who I am and what I want. I learned that I had to be okay with ME despite what others did to me or said to me. That advice changed my life and helped to shape me into a more confident person.

10. What legacy do you want to leave your kids?

Over the years I’ve had to overcome a lot. Sexual abuse, rebuilding after a tumultuous divorce, embracing a different lifestyle and the backlash from that, and having an unconventional career. All of those things are hard to deal with but I want my children to know that nothing is impossible. They see me in the trenches working hard and being true to myself and if nothing else I pray that I’ve instilled in them that very legacy of giving your all towards whatever it is you’re passionate about and being confident in who you are.
