I am working on expanding my editing service and my my publishing company, Firestorm Publications.

If you could share one message with the masses, what would it be?
A.P.:
That life is an expression, so express yourself whether it’s through writing, or whatever it is that you do. Expressing one’s self is the ultimate! Creativity is expressing and expressing one’s self is creativity.
L.F.:
What do you believe your responsibility is to the readers and / or the literary community?
A.P.:
My responsibility to the readers and the literary community is to provide them with quality products. I also feel responsible for tackling some of the issues that are considered taboo and expanding or developing a platform where we can discuss these matters freely instead of saturating the readers, and the literary community, with what I like to call the same “redecorated” stories.

Kenni says: In light of Trayvon Martin’s murder and the recent George Zimmerman trial, I want to believe that times will get better, that as a people we will progress and our young black brothers (and sisters) will be able to ‘mind their own business’ without having to fear for their lives. While we should hold on and keep the faith, believing that better days are to come, note that this does not excuse us from being socially conscious and finding ways to be a part of incorporating change.

Kenni says: Cooking at home can be much more cost efficient and healthy than eating out. Even when it comes to pizza! If you’re craving pizza and not feeling up to spending money for delivery or take out, making your own pizza may be a great alternative. If you have children this would also be a fun project. Here’s a recipe to keep it simple, delicious, a lot healthier than the greasy pie from the local pizzeria.
Recipe
1 large whole wheat Boboli crust
½ lb ground turkey
¼ cup mushrooms
½ cup traditional spaghetti sauce (or pizza sauce)
1 cup baby spinach leaves
¼ cup onions
3 cups low-fat pizza blend cheese (or 1 cup Mozzarella, 1 cup Parmesan, and 1 cup Cheddar)
