Highlighter
Light coloured mineral eyeshadows work great as highlighters on the face. Just apply a small
amount to a blush or contour brush and sweep lightly onto the cheeks, bridge of the nose,
collarbone or cleavage area.
Glowing Skin
Take a small amount of a light eyeshadow colour, mix it in with your foundation and apply as
normal. You can also use a bronze colour to create a bronzey glow.
Coloured Mascara
For a bright pop of colour, mix some eyeshadow with a clear mascara and apply it to your
lashes. Or for a hint of colour and sparkle, simply stroke on a bit over your regular mascara,
while it’s still wet.
Tinted Lip Balm
Create your own custom tinted lip balm by mixing in some eyeshadow to a container of lip
balm.
Lipgloss & Lipstick
Mix a tiny bit of the eyeshadow with a lip gloss and apply to your lips. Or, you can apply your
gloss directly to the lips, then dip your finger into the pigment and either pat or slick it over your
lip gloss.
This is also a great way to change your matte lipsticks into a shimmer – just layer a shimmery
eyeshadow over the top. And if you want to add some punch to a lipstick, simply pat on a very
sheer layer of shadow (in the same colour as your lipstick) over your lips after applying lipstick.
Nail Polish
Pour a small amount of your pigment onto a paper plate and pour out a small amount of clear
nail polish; then mix together. After applying with the nailbrush provided, wipe the brush with
nail polish remover and put it back into the bottle. This can stain the brush, so have a separate
bottle of clear nail polish specifically for using only with loose mineral eyeshadows.
Or if this seems like too much effort, just apply the nail polish, then sprinkle the eyeshadow on
top before it has dried.
Temporary Hair Colour
Take your favourite hair styling product (cream, mousse, gel etc.), sprinkle a bit of eyeshadow in
it and mix well. Then streak it through your hair or use all over for a total effect.
