LURE 1 | Page 46

WEAPON OF CHOICE L U R E TARGET POINT One of the things that makes the T-Witch such an effective lure, other than it’s action, is the large eye. Sunken into the body work with a nicely styled beveled edge the reflective iris with large, black pupil delivers the perfect strike point for an intercepting predator. TOUGH CONSTRUCTION This lure is designed to catch big fish, and that means it needs to be able to cope with brute force and crushing dental work. The most important thing though has to be keeping contact between the angler and the hooks, so the T-Witch utilises a super strong wire through constructions to ensure even under the heaviest loads the lure’s like ly to experience there’s a strong link through the lure’s body from line contact point to the trebles. COLOURS TO AGITATE Available in six colourways, none of the T-Witch’s schemes are designed to be realistic in the traditional lure styling sense. There are versions designed to mimic prey fish, but they are basic representations. The key to this lure is simple razzmatazz, strikes will be more instinctual anger than dietary requirement. STORM Pike Doom Bell T-Witch Subtlety is not in the T-Witch’s vocabulary. Part of the Storm Doom Bell stable – Doom Bell denoting the ringing of the dinner gong for predators and their ensuing doom when they strike – this lure is loud, flashy and annoying. And that’s exactly how pike like it. From the massive strike point eye through to the simplistic colour ways this lure is designed to piss fish off to the point where they chomp down hard. On top of the visual the Doom Bell rattle is extremely loud, taunting pike and other large predators into shutting it up permanently.   This annoyance also translates into the T-Witch’s action. On a straight retrieve the shallow lip creates a standard slow roll through the water – but who wants a straight retrieve! The T-Witch, as the name suggests is designed to be twitched vigorously through your rod tip. Sharp, random pulls and twitches see the lure come alive, darting in different direction but also importantly still rolling, but now violently to flash its flanks. Interspersed with stops it’s a brilliant combination to deliver savage takes.   Designed to be fished shallow, the T-Witch is a slow sinker, with the two sizes (13cm and 17cm) having diving depths on the lip to 0.6m and 1m respectively. Weight wise the two sizes measure up at 20g at 13cm and a much heavier 45g for the 17cm model.
