AEC illuminates Florence
with LED technology
After 52 years, AEC illuminate the city of Florence
once again with LED technology
I
n 1966, following the devastating flood that hit the
city of FLORENCE, AEC was chosen for providing
the new decorative lighting of the city, particularly
the lungarni and the famous street in the city centre.
After the floodlighting, the company started with the
production of cast-iron candelabra, lighting up the
most prestigious Italian city centre.
After 52 years, AEC come back to light up the city
of Florence with LED technology, after having won
the tender for more than 27,000 lighting fixtures
for the energy efficiency of the city public lighting.
The tender has been convened by Silfi Spa, the public
utility company which manage the outdoor lighting
in Florence. Once again, AEC has demonstrated
to be a dynamic company in constantly evolution.
Already in 2015, AEC has been the protagonist of the
Milan LED lighting, in occasion of EXPO 2015, with
more than 120,000 lighting luminaire of Italo series.
After this, Brescia, Turin and Bergamo also, the main
northern Italian city, have completed extraordinary
energy efficiency project. AEC has been the company
which provided the new lighting also to these cities.
Being the protagonist also for Florence LED lighting,
it is surely reason of pride for AEC. Those of
Florence, represent in fact for the company a very
important project because this is not a simply city,
but we’re talking about Florence, the Tuscan city
for excellence, well-known for its beauty in the
world. But not only, this is the city where the story
of AEC has begun. Being again awarded,
it is a further more recognition of extremely
professionalism and seriousness.
For the new Florence public lighting, many lighting
solutions has been chosen, such as Italo, Ecorays,
Galileo and the recent AEC news Stylo and Artelys.
Stylo is a street lighting which feature a unique
design and it is already the winner of the prestigious
RED DOT DESIGN AWARD 2018 in the lighting
category. The product lights up, together with Italo,
the main Florentine streets. Artelys is the new
efficient series for urban lighting and the product has
been chosen for the squares and parks in Florence.
What has been again recognized among the main
AEC values, is its company philosophy of TOTAL
