The “smart” solution by Enel X
for the e-city of the future
E
nel X is a global company that drives
the transformation of the energy sector,
and, by changing the paradigms of the industry,
it aims to create new opportunities for progress
and transformation all over the world.
An innovative company that offers solutions aimed
at major customers, with a focus on flexible services
such as consultancy, technologies related to energy
efficiency, distributed generation, implementation
of off-grid solutions, and Demand Response.
It is aimed at domestic customers for the installation
and maintenance of advanced technological
solutions for smart homes that are able to save more
energy and offer greater well-being.
It also operates by providing integrated services
to public administrations and municipalities,
and connectivity solutions such as the wholesale
offer of fibre optic services. Enel X installed about
1.8 million street lamps throughout Italy in 3,300
cities. So far, these were only LED lamps of the
Archilede line. But, starting next year, a more
structured offer will be presented, with
a “catalogue” of the new products and services
available to public administrations.
A first glimpse of the new Enel X technological
devices will be available in the middle of next year
in Pescara, with the installation of the first two
Juice Lamps, the public street lighting poles that
integrate 2 fast charging smart stations, up to
22 KW of power, able to recharge 80% of a car’s
battery in less than an hour.
Juice Lamp will be able to provide services such
as video analysis for traffic and access control,
smart parking and security, environmental
monitoring via sensors, and connectivity through
public Wi-Fi. It is a “smart” solution that respects
public space and landscape constraints, giving life
to the e-city of the future. Juice Lamp is designed
to replace the lighting poles that are nowadays
at the end of their life span or to be put in addition
to existing systems, and it will be available
in different versions and designs, so as to be
as much as possible in line with the surrounding
urban context. The services will be distributed
and provided through Enel X’s IoT (Internet
of Things) platform, maximizing the effectiveness
of service management and minimizing
operating costs.
With these new technological solutions, Enel X
wants to create the right solutions for a more
intelligent lighting and energy consumption,
as well as offering connectivity and mobility
solutions that improve the lives of citizens.
