A of a smart lighting system The global turnover of the Internet of Things ( IoT ) lighting is expected to increase , from the € 545.33 million of the past year to € 3.77 billion in 2026 ( Source : Navigant Research ). Many people talk about IoT , but very few products follow these proclamations or can actually be marketed and used in these new technological contexts . Thanks to light , however , Panzeri Carlo S . r . l . has already entered the Smart Lighting . The Jackie IoT table lamp is a real device for the Internet of Things that enters the network of the Smart Living objects that we will increasingly have around us .
From design awards to the internet of things Panzeri started working on Jackie IoT in April 2017 , as leader of a partnership with Eelectron , a company specializing in the automation and evolution of buildings and environments , and the Politecnico di Milano . The first prototype of the new lamp was presented at the Salone del Mobile in Milan , on the occasion of Euroluce . The award-winning lamp designed by Enzo Panzeri is the first object to interact with Otomo ® ( Optimized Office Automation ), a network of Bluetooth low energy controls . The system has been created to manage optimization , energy saving and office control , working on roller shutter management , lighting regulation and thermoregulation . The focal points of this system are , on one hand , the management tools connected to a cloud , such as smartphones and mobile devices , and , on the other one , the objects like Jackie . Thanks to the Bluetooth Low Energy ( BLE ) communication and a series of integrated sensors , the lamp provides a real advantage in the control of light and in its use . From office desks and tables , Jackie allows the measurement of temperature and brightness from the position that best transfers users ’ perception of light . The automatic management of lights is based on a highly qualitative survey , focused on the comfort of the end users . The introduction of the BLE connection and of the DALI control system will soon involve several products in the Panzeri portfolio . A novelty that will further open the doors to the IoT world and to the ability of lamps to interact with the surrounding context .
An innovative project funded by the Lombardy Region Last November , the Lombardy Region selected Panzeri Carlo S . r . l . among the six FederLegnoArredo companies deserving to receive the non-repayable grant of the “ Smart Living ” call , which , in collaboration with universities , supports innovations in specific sectors such as construction industry , wooden home furniture , appliances and high-tech . Over the next eighteen months , the € 450,000 funding will be used to develop all the hardware and software elements related to electronics , mechanics , applications and sensors . All this will make sure that the device correctly responds to the detection of presence , brightness , and temperature inside buildings , whether they are intended for living or office use . The device will be controlled from smartphones and tablets via the “ Otomo ” App , available for both Android and iOS . At the next Light + Building ( Frankfurt , March 18th-23rd ), Panzeri will present a final version of Jackie IoT , ready for commercialization .
