And we’re off again. Chris and I were sticking
together for this leg of the trip. We get back to Talkeetna,
drove to Anchorage to meet up with some friends and
then drove to Whittier to hunt Black Bear and fish with
Ray’s son, Ray Jr. a.k.a. Crazy Ray. I met Crazy Ray
many years ago through another friend Louis Cusack,
and Crazy Ray lives up to his name. Ray is a licensed
Captain who runs fishing charters out of Whittier, but
for this trip, he was just one of the guys. We were a
group of friends working their way hunting and fishing
through Alaska.

In Anchorage, we picked up my Producer, Rob
Snider, Cameraman Cliff Enzor and marketing guru
Mark Isenhardt. There is a 2.6 mile, privately owned
large tunnel that separates Whittier from Porter, on
Prince William Sound. It was originally a railroad
tunnel, constructed in 1943 and was Whittier’s only
land link for over 50 years. During World War II, the
Army constructed a military facility which remained
active until 1960 and this is in the town of Whittier.
