So, what exactly is $outh$ide?

“SouthSide is a lifestyle for the people in South Jersey. It's our way of life. No one used to claim South Jersey everyone kind of just says Philly or right outside Philly. We wanted people to be proud to say they were from South Jersey, so we gave it a name.“

You sort of went back and forth from Philly and Collingswood throughout your childhood, can you elaborate on the differences you experienced in those areas? (This could be socially, economically, environmentally, etc...)

“My whole family is from different hoods in Philly; and then there's me, the kid that grew up in the suburbs of South Jersey. But I learned that I needed to experience both lifestyles. From living in a quiet neighborhood to falling asleep to the sounds of gunshots and sirens. It made me understand that life isn't a joke, if you're from the burbs or the hood. They both have differences but also similar struggles. It's a blessing to be able to have the perspective of both lifestyles.”

When did you stumble upon music and what sparked that is was for you?

“I stumbled upon it when I was about 6. I loved it but never thought I would be making music. I started writing at 12 and I just love the fact that it gave me a voice. It helped me when I was sad, angry, or even when I wanted to express how happy I was.”

Who's your dream collaboration (indie or major)?

“I really want to collaborate with Cudi. I feel like we are both the same person and both went through so much. I feel like we could make some incredible music.”
