It’s bundles of little things and practices that collectively make all the difference. This month, pick a few reasons to celebrate. Enlist your team’s participation in the process. Make it authentic and memorable to the members of your group. Once the event or recognition takes place, take the time afterwards to recap what steps made it a success. Take the guesswork and legwork out of recognition planning for the future by creating all-in-one kits or easy to implement programs. HANDS-ON RECOGNITION Take the time to write a note for a valued co-worker, friend or peer this month. The written word is a powerful expression of appreciation, and your card will remain displayed on the recipient’s desk for weeks. STEPS: Select a thoughtful card design. Begin with the recipient’s name. Give a specific reason for the praise. Don’t forget to sign your name. Whether you shop around at companies like Baudville or Hallmark, partner with local small businesses or create everything in house - your recognition efforts will help build camaraderie that counts.
