I gained a wealth of knowledge and
experience through them - enabling me up
to make the best use of the units.”
Russell recently relocated to Durban (from
Johannesburg) as it was simply not enough
to spend the odd week down the coast
looking a er his Durban business clients
and also very importantly maintaining his
deep sea fishing passion.
Fortunately, having a super-efficient team
of staff in his Johannesburg office ensures
it's business as usual, even if he's many
nau cal miles away.
In 2015 Russell bought his KingCat F200 ski
boat, fi ed with two Lowrance HDS 9's, a
1Kw in-hull transducer and Lowrance
Autopilot.
Needless to say, many trips to Durban and
all around the Northern East Coast South
Africa and Mozambique followed.
They've allowed me to specifically target
different species - by learning to iden fy
readings on structure like reefs, wrecks and
drop-offs.
Features like Splitscreen Zoom for bo om
fishing is also so useful – being able to zoom
in and see the detail in both the midwater
column and specifically on the reef or
structure – at the same me.
Lowrance adds a new dimension to fishing!
You are able to plan and strategize each
fishing trip and adapt as necessary - based on
w h at yo u r u n i t s reve a l i s go i n g o n
underneath you.
Some of the crucial informa on reliably
delivered by the Lowrance units such as
bo om structure, water temperature,
depth, fish readings, and reading your dri in
rela on to the current and winds - provides
you with a real advantage in all fishing
situa ons and disciplines.”
Taking the sport more and more seriously
and wan ng more space and versa lity for
Marlin fishing, Russell upgraded to a
Kingcat 2406. This is also fi ed with twin
Lowrance HDS 9 units, a 1 KW in-hull
transducer, Lowrance Autopilot and Link 5
VHF Radio.
“Everything integrates and works so well
and with the M260 transducer. The clarity
on my HDS 9's is superb - “even” when
wearing polaroid glasses!
Lowrance units are so user-friendly, they
have me and me again proved crucial to
the success of my fishing.
