The proof is in the pudding as they say and recently, Guy shot a 1.78kg Blue lined
large eye Bream (at Umkomaas) - to clinch his 4th SA Record!! Well done Guy!
When he’s not spearfishing, Guy runs his insurance business – Spartan Consultants
– and he participates in different “landbound” activities. Guy enjoys many types
of sports. He’s competed in endurance races (like the Triple Challenge), he’s run
five Comrades Marathons, and he’s played rugby for College Rovers. He has
also completed six Duzi Canoe Marathons and a Non-stop Duzi event.
He is married with two children and his son Griffon (9) is also hooked on
Spearfishing. He shot his first fish recently at Warner Beach, a 1.2kg Moonie.

- Current South African Protea Spearfisherman.
- Represented Kwazulu Natal A team at 4 Nationals.
- Represented South Africa at consecutive Fresh Water and Salt Water World
Championships. He has achieved a top 10 in the world at both these competitions.
- Represented a SAUFF South African team at a Champions League Competition in
Greece Limnos in 2014.
- Represented a SAUFF South African team against an Australian National Team in
2015.
Competition Titles:
1) Won Kwazulu Natal Spearfishing Championships on four occasions,
2) Won Two consecutive Border Championships competitions.
3) Wahoo Winter Game Fish Competition.
4) Placed top five at four National Competitions.
Currently I hold four South African Species records and previously held a world record
for a Tiger Rockcod which was recently broken.
