it was not long before he started the popular
Kayak Fishing EC Club – which now boasts 120
members who fish every week.
“The different features give me a much
clearer view and understanding of what’s on
the bottom, the reefs and the type of fish
hanging out there.
“Here in the Eastern Cape, conditions are so
different and it’s a different type of fishing.
We don’t just use our units to troll for bait –
we make use of every feature to maximise our
chances of good catches – and Lowrance has
certainly played a huge role in the success of
my fishing!”
Brett’s latest addition to his equipment is a
fully-equipped Yamaha FX160 jetski - which
includes a new Lowrance HDS-7 Gen 3 unit –
mainly because he does a lot of fishing in the
Transkei.
Many of them are turning to Lowrance to help
them find fish and Brett, as the new Lowrance
“go to” person in the area, makes sure they
get the right unit to suit their needs. Once a
client buys a unit, Brett helps with
installations, settings, technical tips and
advice – to maximise their enjoyment and
focus on their fishing!

conditions are not good, it’s better to be on a
jetski – one feels a lot safer. It’s also easier
and quicker to get to where you want to go.”
He’s not giving up on the Kayak fishing and
he’s still passionate about it. He enjoys the
good workout it gives – and of course, all
while he’s in the place he loves best –
outdoors and on the water!
