Day two saw big swells and a strong south-wester and there were very few catches. Paul Marshall was the star of the day with his 28.5kg King Mack- erel - which also earned him 2nd place overall and a Lowrance HOOK 9 unit! as the latest HDS and Elite units. Anglers loved our new Lowrance shirts and many were sold at the event. Saturday – the last day, was a cracker with great weather and excellent catches. In the end, a mas- sive Yellowfin Tuna of 40.9kg caught by Lourens Viljoen, proved unbeatable! A fitting reward for this former South Coast angler, who’d travelled all the way from Sweden to join a team of friends taking part. Several juniors also excelled in the Tuna stakes, including Owen Barclay with a Yellowfin of 19.5kg, 15-year-old Rorke Anderson’s fish of 20.6kg and Greg Botha’s 23.8kg. Michael Joubert (also 15) finally took Top Junior spot with a 26.2kg beauty.
