XSONIC TRANSDUCERS Elite Ti and HDS units will now be paired with a new type of transducer – called xSonic Transducers. xSonic is a new format of transducer connector (i.e. transducer plug) that replaces the original 7-pin blue connecter with the 9-pin black connector. This enables more flexibility in the new types of transducers that are being developed. Since there are more pins, more information can therefore be transmitted. We will keep you posted on the development of these xSonic transducers, but in the meantime the main differences between the traditional blue plug transducers and the new xSonic transducers are: • The xSonic connector includes transducer identi- fication. That means that your Lowrance unit will now be able to recognise which specific transducer is connected (you will no longer need to manually select your transducer model). Your Lowrance unit will therefore function even more efficiently - when it knows which transducer it is working with. •xSonic transducers include an analog temperature sensor. This means they will now have the ability to read both digital and analog temperature. Elite Ti units are paired with TotalScan transducers – these transducers already make use of 9-pin adapters. Going forward, most of the high-end transducers will all be classified as xSonic (e.g. xSonic P-79). If you have an HDS unit with a sonar port that only allows for 7-pin connectors, then you will need to purchase an adapter cable in order to connect your 9-pin xSonic transducer. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call our head office and chat to a sales consultant. We look forward to following the development of these new xSonic transducers.
