REGION V BASS CHAMPIONSHIPS

While we briefly mentioned our
Protea Bass team’s participation in
these championships in our last
issue of the Lowrance SA online
magazine, Team Manager Andre
Senekal sent us this feedback –

“The Team consisted of the
following Members:
Craig Fraser (Captain) Neels
Beneke (Vice Captain) , Freddie
Steyn, Charl Engelbrecht, Charlton
Hewitt, Justin Karran , Andre
Senekal (Manager), Mzi Tyokolo and
six rookies - Michael Cannon, Pieter
Espag, Thinus Barnard, Kevin
Naidoo, Stephan Britz and Marcio
Silva.
Lake Chicamba is in the northern
parts of Mozambique. Zambia
was the hosting country and the
competing countries included
Mozambique, South Africa and
Zimbabwe.
The team members travelled to
Louis Trichardt from the early
morning hours of July 24th 2019 -
as for some, the trip would be a
gruelling 2500km one way.
Fourteen very excited men and
seven fully prepared boats
arrived late that afternoon and
the fun started with drinks and
dinner.
At 03h20 the next morning we
were on the road again, heading
to the Beitbridge border post
with Zimbabwe. We drove all the
way through Zimbabwe and
exited late that afternoon into
Mozambique at Msika border
post. From there a short while
later, we arrived at Casa Msika
Lodge.
