LOWRANCE SOUTH AFRICA Issue 3 | Page 34

Martin Smit from Umhlanga had an awesome start to Human Rights Day recently , when he caught this “ Sailie ” off his paddleski – and all before 7.30 in the morning !
He was fishing off Tinley Manor ( KZN ’ s north coast ), when he spotted this beauty on his Lowrance Hook 3X unit .
Martin says he was using a dead Mackeral as bait - at a depth of around 25m – when the fish struck and the fight was on .
After 40-minutes he won the battle – although he says the fish still had some fight left – as it was green when he brought it in alongside the boat .
These pictures clearly show how exhilarated he was with this , his second Sailfish ( off his ski ) – which he released after the photographs were taken .
Well done Martin – we look forward to more success stories in future .

MARC GOES FISHING

Our Gauteng Sales rep - Marc Kruger spent a great day out on the water at Bronkhorstspruit Dam , learning invaluable tips from our Lowrance Brand Ambassador Charl Engelbrecht from World of Fishing .
Despite bad water conditions , they still managed to catch some bass - thanks to their trusty Lowrance units .
Charl soon got them on-the-spot using his Lowrance HDS 12 and 9 Gen 3 units and Marc was thrilled to catch a 1kg Bass on his second cast . Charl caught a similar-sized fish not long after .
