LOWRANCE SOUTH AFRICA Issue 22 | Page 7

If you do remove your unit from your boat, make sure that you NEVER leave it in a closed vehicle or trunk - the extremely high temperatures generated in South Africa’s hot weather can damage electronics. And one more very important tip… ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOUR UNIT IS UPDATED WITH THE LATEST SOFTWARE! Software updates are completely free and easy to do. HOW TO DOWNLOAD NEW SOFTWARE: You can easily download the software directly from our Lowrance SA website www.lowrance.co.za At the bottom of the homepage, click on the “Software Upgrades” option and select your unit model. The software will then pop up, and all you need to do is click on it to start the download. Save the downloaded software file onto a blank SD card (no smaller than 1gig and no larger than 32gigs), and insert that card into your Lowrance unit (make sure your unit is turned off). Turn on your unit, and the software will automatically start updating. The unit will re-boot after the upgrade is complete. Alternatively, if your unit has access to Wi-Fi, you can connect and download the software directly onto your unit. Once your unit is connected to Wi-Fi, a message should pop up on your screen notifying you of available software upgrades – you just allow the unit it update itself. EASY, right? If you need any assistance, feel free to phone us on 031 368 6649. We hope you all enjoy your Lowrance units over the festive season. If you take proper care of your marine electronics, you can enjoy them for many seasons to come! We wish you tight lines .
